When we give to God
1 Samuel 1:27-28 “For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him: Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there.”
Some may already know the story of Hannah and Samuel. For a long time, Hannah could not have children. In the passage, we read that Hannah prays that The Lord will give her a son and she will give him back to God. The Lord hears her prayers and gives her a son whom they call Samuel.
Now see this…. When the day finally came to give her ONLY son back to God, we don’t see sadness or hesitancy. In fact, we see the opposite. In chapter 2 she is singing and praising God. Thanking Him for all He is and all He had done.
I’m sure it wasn’t easy giving her only son to The Lord God, but when she did, there was gladness. When we give back to our God for all the good He has done for us, we should get excited that we get to! Maybe your “Samuel” is money. Or maybe it’s time that you want for yourself. It could possibly be that job you always wanted but it keeps you away from serving Him. Whatever your Samuel is, give it to God and watch what He will do with it.
