Always Before Me

Psalm 16:8-9

“I have set the LORD always before me: Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: My flesh also shall rest in hope.”

So many now days are seeking happiness and rest. We think that if we have the new stuff or if we get to go on this journey then we will have happiness. We believe that if we do this one thing or buy this special “once in a lifetime offer” then we will finally have rest.
Is there anything wrong with this? No. But will it bring happiness and rest? The Psalmist said that “I have set the Lord ALWAYS before me, and THEREFORE my heart is glad and I have rest.”
I can’t help but think of all the times I thought about myself and put me first before the Lord. What would happen, I wonder, if I placed The Lord always before me? Would my heart be glad as the Bible says? Would I have rest?
My Prayer: Father, I pray that You help me wake in the morning every day and place you always before me. Forgive me for putting myself first before you. You are so much better than my earthly dreams and desires. Your ways are better than mine. Thank you Lord for your goodness. Thank you for the happiness and rest that comes from putting you first!
